Last Saturday (2000-08-12) Karlsruhe City Grid, "Central" Germany, hosted its 23th official Netrunner tournament. The format (determined by vote: 5 yes, 3 no) was Starter + Booster Draft: 1 double starter + 1 Proteus booster + 2 Classic boosters per player. From the starter all vitals were kept by the respective player, the rest of the cards were randomly divided into three stacks per side (16+16+17 for corp, 15+15+15 for runner) which were then drafted like boosters (1 card per player, alternating clockwise and counterclockwise). We played 4 rounds Swiss format, using the 3-judges system. Final result: Opp. TRC Tag GMP GMP gam mat AP 1. Lukas Kautzsch 65.5B.35 10.0 22.5 7.0 3.0 70-29 2. The drafting provded additional fun, with the resulting decks feeling a bit more special than the usual Sealed Deck decks. The next tournament of Karlsruhe City Grid might be a constructed tournament (test for European and German Championships) on September 9th.
