Betreff: Karlsruhe City Grid tourney #13

Last Saturday afternoon Karlsruhe City Grid, "Central" Germany, hosted
its 13th official Netrunner tournament. The event had been announced as
Sealed Deck, but all 12 participants agreed to have a try on Third World
Revolt, the format of the upcoming Gridlock III Weekend in November.
This variant uses the same material per player as normal Sealed Deck
(one starter plus one limited and one Proteus booster) but allows
drafting from several stacks of cards before each player builds his/her
decks from the drafted cards. In order to avoid players having not
enough agenda points or no ice breakers of one kind, we decided that
each player would keep all vitals from the starters opened by him/her.
(That problem should be adressed in the Gridlock III rules, too!) The
drafting turned out to be great fun (even if one more experienced player
whined bitterly about not being sitting between two weefles but two
other "pro's") but did cost some additional time, of course. 4 rounds of
Swiss were played. Prizes had been donated by WotC (many thanks,
Jennifer!).

The next tournament of Karlsruhe City Grid is scheduled for Saturday,
September 18th, 12:00 high noon, at PTV-Haus, Stumpfstr. 1, Karlsruhe,
Germany. The format will be Third World Revolt again (or whatever format
will be announced at that time for Gridlock III Weekend...).
